General:
- With temperatures reaching close to 100°F over the past two weeks, the turf is experiencing heat stress. Mowing during these extreme conditions can also result in temporary heat tracks and burn marks. Our crews are taking every precaution by adjusting mowing speeds while continuing to complete services on schedule. We appreciate everyone’s patience as they work safely in these challenging conditions.
- If residents notice dry or brown areas developing in their lawns, we recommend having the irrigation system inspected to ensure those areas are receiving adequate water coverage.
- After further inspections of several properties with dead turf, we have determined that the damage is primarily due to drought stress. The recent rainfall has already begun helping the turf recover, and we expect continued improvement as rainfall increases.
Pruning:
Third Round
- Completed this week: Apple Blossom and Birch Tree – See map in yellow
- Estimated next week: 70 homes on Apple Blossom, Great Laurel, Citrus Tree, and Yellow Wood, and Gold Flower – See map in pink
- During this pruning cycle, we will be performing rejuvenation cutbacks on hibiscus, petunias, firebush, and bougainvillea. We will also be reducing the height of jasmine at many front entrances.

Mowing (Please note, new mow rotation starting next week) :

IPM / Fertilization:
- The next Integrated Pest Management (IPM) application is scheduled for the third week of August (weather permitting).
- Chinch bug activity has begun throughout the area. We also recommend applying preventive grub treatment, as grub activity typically increases during September and October.
- Since our maintenance contract includes spot treatments only, we are offering residents an optional preventive Chinch Bug and Grub Treatment to help protect their lawns from significant turf damage. Cost: $125 per application.
